HOYA Vision Care Launches MiYOSMART Sun Spectacle Lenses Combining Protection From Intense Sunlight With Myopia Management

Following the successful soft launch in April 2023, HOYA Vision Care is continuing to introduce the MiYOSMART sun variety, with a prepared reach of 30 nations, over the next couple of months. MiYOSMART Chameleon photochromic phenomenon lenses and MiYOSMART Sunbird polarised phenomenon lenses were developed to provide protection from harmful UV rays and slow the progression of myopia in children by means of D.I.M.S. Technology. The MiYOSMART clear phenomena lenses, released in 2018, and these two additional products expand children’s access to the kinds of indoor and outdoor activities they like without putting their eyes at risk. The MiYOSMART Sunbird and MiYOSMART Chameleon sunglass lenses offer protection from the sun’s harmful rays while also correcting the refractive error that causes myopia and reducing its progression. D.I.M.S. technology, previously used in the highly regarded and painless MiYOSMART clear phenomenon lenses, has been adapted for use in the new phenomenon lenses, which has been shown to reduce myopia progression by 60% in children aged 8 to 13. MiYOSMART Chameleon, with its HOYA photochromic lens technology, is a convenient and risk-free alternative for managing myopia and enjoying the outdoors. In a matter of seconds, it will adapt to the amount of light outside and fade back to clear within. When paired with MiYOSMART clear phenomenon lenses, the MiYOSMART Sunbird provides further protection against the sun’s glare and rays.
