Anna Megill, the lead writer on the upcoming Myth reboot, has said she would be departing Playground Games in August, and that a “heroically gifted group” will be taking over the project.

Megill has been at Playground Games since February 2021, when she was hired as Fable’s lead writer, and she took over as narrative lead in July 2022. Her time spent working with Fable was a “dream come true,” and she spoke highly of the company as she announced her departure.

“Friends, I have news,” Megill wrote on Twitter. “As of August, I will no longer be serving as Fable’s Narrative Lead. I’ve spent many happy years doodling in my enchanted house, but now I’m ready for fresh challenges.

Leaving Fable behind is like saying goodbye to a childhood dream. I have faith in Play area because they have assembled a team of exceptionally talented heroes. For both of us, what comes next fills me with joy.

Almost immediately after making her remark, she responded angrily to people she perceived to be “being ridiculous” and jumped to the conclusion that something must be wrong with Fable or that her split from the company was anything but amicable.

There are “some people being silly, so let me be clear: I reached an excellent stopping indicate to jump off the job, so I did,” Megill said. And before diving into my next gig, I decided to take a short break. There you have it. Playground and my coworkers have earned nothing but my deepest admiration and affection.
