On Monday, the Dallas Stars defeated the Seattle Kraken 2-1 in Game 7 of their second-round series to progress to the Western Conference Final.
After a scoreless first period, Roope Hintz broke the deadlock with an unassisted goal to maintain his team’s stellar performance in the playoffs. Hintz has surpassed Connor McDavid, star of the Edmonton Oilers, and is currently in first place in postseason scoring with 19 points.
In the third period, at the 12:48 minute, Wyatt Johnston scored an insurance goal. The assistance was attributed to both Evgenii Dadonov and Thomas Harley. With only 18 seconds remaining, Oliver Bjorkstrand scored a late goal for the Kraken, and it proved to be the game-winner.
Hintz and Johnston’s goals relegated destiny to the conference finals for the first time since the 2020 season, and Twitter went wild.

Wow, Johnston, what a play! In what was going to be a cakewalk, he’s in the lead. The puck bounces off the end boards and he backhands it to the ceiling on the short side. Dallas up 2-0 with 7:12 remaining.
