A supersonic jet went after a solar eclipse throughout Africa

In 1973, scientists on board the Concorde jet participated in a spectacular eclipse chase across the continent. A similar mission next year will attempt to decode the sun’s life-giving mysteries.

at 2017, a total solar eclipse may be viewed at Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Scientists sometimes take to the skies in jets so they can spend as much time as possible in the moon’s shadow during moments of totality.
