Charlie Hensley has been named the new vice president of real estate and construction for the well-known fast-casual restaurant chain, which also announced today the promotions of Denise Pedini to chief marketing officer and Adam Karveller to chief technology officer.

With more than 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Mr. Hensley represents Newk’s. He formerly owned a franchise of McAlister’s Deli, where he received the President’s Award for outstanding management. He has also worked with the Penn Station East Coast Subs and Papa John’s pizza systems.
Mrs. Pedini successfully supported the brand’s marketing initiatives after joining Newk’s in December 2020, even during the worst of the pandemic. She assembled a marketing team that oversaw the 2022 launch of Newk’s Rewards, the brand’s first loyalty programme, and collaborated closely with operations to improve the menu by making it more profitable and cost-effective. As she oversees all customer touchpoints for business and franchise dining restaurants throughout 15 states in her current role as CMO, Pedini has even bigger goals for Newk’s.
Mr. Karveller’s promotion to CTO marks the end of his 15 years as a Newk’s family member. As the group leader for the IT department, he is responsible for completing more than 40 crucial responsibilities. By researching, selecting, and implementing organisational innovations, such as team- and guest-facing systems for all dining places, as well as Newk’s support, Adam will continue to play a significant role for the brand.
